Greetings
My family came on the Goya in 1949. The family name was Risch. The ship transport listing on this site does not include an arrival by this ship in Melbourne in December (26) in 1949. My mother maintains is the correct date of arrival.
From the Goya we were loaded onto a train and went straight to Bonegilla and then much later to a migrant Holding Camp in West Sale in Victoria.
The family of two adults and two children (yes we still have the three wooden suitcases) are now spread between Melbourne, Canberra and Sydney.
I would very much appreciate contact with other migrants/refugees from this era.

A belated welcome, garfy!
Can you please post that message to the Nelly forum as well? More chance then of finding others from the same voyage.
Best wishes,
